Peter G. Sepelak, Jr. Graduates from CBA Advanced Education Program

April 23, 2013 - Simsbury Bank is pleased to announce that on April 10th Peter G. Sepelak, Jr., Assistant Branch Manager of the Simsbury branch, graduated from the Connecticut Bankers Association’s Connecticut School of Finance & Management (“CSFM”). Peter was among this year’s class of 51 graduates from 25 financial institutions. For over 50 years, CSFM has been Connecticut’s premier management training program. Participants are selected by their banks based on their high performance and high potential.

“Peter’s management position at Simsbury Bank, his investment advisory experience and his other extensive banking and investment services experience provide him with a solid foundation of how a financial institution operates and how to help customers make decisions that will help them meet their financial goals. The CSFM program enhanced Peter’s knowledge and will help him grow as a banker and leader in the future.  On behalf of senior management and Peter’s co-workers, I am proud of his accomplishments.” said Howard R. Zern, Chief Retail Banking, Technology and Deposit Operations Officer.

Mr. Sepelak said, “The CSFM program provided me with a comprehensive perspective on all aspects of what makes a bank successful.  I am honored that Simsbury Bank selected me to participate in this challenging and rewarding program.   What I have learned will be invaluable in my work at Simsbury Bank.”

The CBA’s comprehensive two year CSFM program is the premiere management training program offered by the CBA.  It provides experienced bankers with exposure to all areas of banking. Students participate in monthly seminars, write papers on selected topics and work on group projects including a “bank sim”, a simulation of three years in the life of a bank.  Students devote a great deal of personal time and effort to complete the coursework while working their full time jobs. 2,275 individuals have successfully completed the program since it began 52 years ago.
