May 9, 2013 - Simsbury Bank is pleased to announce that Ken Sklodosky, Vice President and Senior Market Manager of the Bloomfield branch, received the Paul Harris Award from the Rotary Club of Bloomfield. The award is made annually in recognition of members of the Bloomfield Community who have been involved in various community activities, who have made significant contributions to the community, who are givers not takers, who are dedicated to one’s family and who espouse the Principals of Rotary. The dinner and award ceremony were held on April 24, 2013 at the Mill on the River in South Windsor.
Donald Harris, a Paul Harris Fellow, presented the award to Mr. Sklodosky, saying “Ken embodies all of the principles of Paul Harris Fellows. In his working life, he has been a leader or manager for the past 15 years, and, in his current position, he is accountable for branch performance, market awareness, sales and service. Under Ken’s dynamic leadership, the Bloomfield branch has been recognized for many impressive sales results. Ken embodies the Rotary’s commitment to community service by actively being involved in many organizations including serving as Team Captain for the March of Dimes Walk America, working to renovate a women’s shelter and HIV/AIDS home in Hartford, and actively volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Foodshare Walk Against Hunger, Fidelco Guide Dog Walk, Auer Farm Fall Festival and the Strawberry Festival at Bloomfield United Methodist Church. I am very pleased to present this award to Ken.”
“I am deeply honored to have been selected as one of this year’s recipients. I have been fortunate to do many things to help people less privileged than I am, and that has only been possible because I have been extremely fortunate to have a great group of people supporting me, from my wife, Brandie, to my mother, Emily, my children, Emily and Karlee, Simsbury Bank’s President and CEO Martin Geitz, and my manager, Howard Zern”, said Mr. Sklodosky.
Mr. Zern, EVP and Chief Retail Banking, Operations and Technology Officer, said, “On behalf of everyone at Simsbury Bank, we are very proud of Ken’s work and leadership with the Rotary Club of Bloomfield. He personifies what we at the Bank hold in the highest of regard – commitment to our customers and community.”
Jennifer Blanchard was also recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow at this event.
