Simsbury Bank Announces New Real Estate Property Tax Savings Accounts

June 10, 2010

In conjunction with the Town of Simsbury, Simsbury Bank is pleased to announce its new Real Estate Property Tax Savings Account.  These accounts are available to any Simsbury real estate property taxpayer and offer premium interest, unfettered access to funds and a convenient automated way to pay taxes each January and July.

In announcing the Real Estate Property Tax Savings Accounts, Martin J. Geitz, President and CEO of Simsbury Bank, said "We worked closely with the Town of Simsbury to design this creative account that helps residential taxpayers gradually save for their tax payments.  As part of the Simsbury community, we feel it is important to offer this benefit for property owners and want to make saving for and paying of taxes as easy as possible."

Two free informational sessions have been scheduled at Simsbury Bank’s main office at 981 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury.  Space is limited so we suggest an RSVP to the branch at 860-658-2265 or to tboulton@simsburybank.com.  Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, June 16th       6-7:30pm  Simsbury branch, 981 Hopmeadow St.

Wednesday, July 14th         6-7:30pm      Simsbury branch, 981 Hopmeadow St.

Simsbury residential real estate property taxpayers can open these accounts at any Simsbury Bank branch.  Customers have the choice to automatically transfer into their tax account a set amount each week or month, or make deposits or withdrawals at any other time they wish.  Customers make their own plan to have enough in the account to cover that season’s tax bill.  The account earns a premium interest rate during the entire year.  Then, in January and July, the customer does not have to worry about writing a check to the Town of Simsbury – the amount due is automatically deducted from the account and remitted to the Town.  Customers appreciate the peace of mind of knowing their taxes are being systematically and conveniently prepared for and paid.  The Town will be including notices about this service in all real estate property tax bills mailed this June.  Simsbury Bank is pleased that real estate property taxpayers in Bloomfield are also eligible for this type of premium savings account.  For questions on this account please call a personal banking representative in Simsbury at 860-658-2265.
