Simsbury Bank is pleased to announce that it is a $5,000 sponsor of Malta House of Care Foundation’s “Celebrating Wonder Women 2019” event, which will be held on April 25 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown. The ninth annual event honors Connecticut women who are improving their communities – often in very quiet ways. Since 2011, Malta has named 63 Wonder Women with fascinating and vastly different stories of personal achievement.

Ken Sklodosky, Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager, said, “We are proud to continue to support the important work that Malta House of Care provides.  Like Malta House, Simsbury Bank strives to find and support individuals and organizations who increase the quality of life in their communities and bring real improvements to people’s lives.”

“Caring businesses like Simsbury Bank help us provide hope and healing to uninsured adults,” said Michelle Murphy, Executive Director of Malta House of Care. “We are so pleased and proud to partner with a bank that shared our vision of community service.”

Malta House of Care is an independent mobile medical clinic that provides free, high-quality, compassionate primary health care to uninsured adults in Greater Hartford. The Malta van travels to four neighborhoods each week (three in Hartford, one in East Hartford), providing physicals, radiology and testing, vaccinations, medication and health coaching at no cost to people who might otherwise go to the ER for care – or worse, get no care at all. With no local, state or federal funding, Malta relies on the generosity of donors and a corps of 50+ medical volunteers who donate 1,000 hours or $2 million worth of in-kind primary care each year. With that, it still costs $87,500 every month to operate the Clinic.  “Celebrating Wonder Women” provides some of that funding. More information is available at
