Simsbury Bank is pleased to announce that it made a $2,500 sponsorship contribution to the Salvation Army as part of WTIC NewsTalk 1080’s annual Holiday Store program. Additionally, Simsbury Bank facilitated the collection of many toys for children of all ages as the Bank’s Avon office was again a drop off point for the public to make toy donations and the Bank’s employees generously made toy donations in support of the Salvation Army’s Holiday Store.
One hundred percent of the funds collected through WTIC’s Holiday Store program supports the work of the Salvation Army in the communities they serve, including providing toys for children and food for individuals and families in need this season. Martin Geitz, President and CEO of Simsbury Bank, delivered the Bank’s donation during the Mornings with Ray Dunaway program broadcast from the Avon Old Farms Hotel this holiday season.
The donated toys were delivered by Susan Reynolds, Senior Relationship Manager of the Bank’s Avon branch. Ms. Reynolds said, “Each year Simsbury Bank’s employees and members of the community are very happy to help children in need. We have been involved with the Salvation Army for many years and are grateful for the good work they do to assist people who need help throughout the year.”
The WTIC NewsTalk 1080’s Holiday Store program with the Salvation Army began in 1990. WTIC Program Director Jack Mitchell initiated the idea that the radio station could sponsor a holiday program which would enlist the community in a unified effort while at the same time benefit people in need. Each year the Holiday Store program has grown, providing more and more goods for The Salvation Army to serve its neighbors in need. Simsbury Bank employees look forward to the WTIC Holiday Store with great anticipation every December. Together, Simsbury Bank and The Salvation Army are making a difference.
